Location and surroundings

The camp lies in a low mountain valley in Rhineland-Palatinate. A river winds through the landscape, forest and meadows cover the slopes, and old castles stand on some of the hilltops. The area is neither noisy nor remote: small villages with a baker, a farm shop and an inn are only a few minutes away by car.

We are planning the camp for adults only. That keeps the evenings quiet and lets you focus on what you came for: switching off, being outdoors, or working from a spot with a view. We want the pitches spaced generously so that nobody looks at the neighbour's dinner plate.

The town of Limburg is approx. 10 minutes away. It has an old town with half-timbered houses, a cathedral, supermarkets and restaurants. For days in larger cities, Koblenz, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt are easy to reach.

Accommodation

In Rhineland-Palatinate you can choose between four types of accommodation. Pitch S is designed for up to two people, Pitch XL for up to six, for example with a motorhome or a large tent. The glamping tent offers real beds for up to four people. The tiny house is meant for up to three people and has its own bathroom. Electricity is included at all pitches.

Dogs are welcome. Just let us know with your request and we will confirm it for your accommodation.

What you can do here

The surroundings suit long walks, days on the water and quiet hours with a book:

  • Paddling: The river runs calmly here. By canoe or stand-up paddle board you can explore the landscape from the water, even as a beginner.
  • Hiking: Marked trails lead from the slopes through forest and meadows. Shorter loops take an hour, for longer tours plan a full day.
  • Cycling: Cycle paths along the river are mostly flat, while the side valleys bring steep climbs. You will find routes for both.
  • Castles and old towns: Castle ruins, palaces and half-timbered villages lie close together. Many can be combined into one day trip.
  • Workation: If you work remotely, the camp offers a quiet place with internet access and a view instead of an office. A desk outdoors makes a nice change.
  • Evening mood: When the sun drops behind the slopes, the valley quickly falls quiet. That leaves time for a campfire, as far as local rules allow.

Best time to visit

From May to September it is warm enough in the valley for swimming and paddling. Early summer brings fresh green and long evenings, late summer calm days with clear light. In October the forest changes colour and hikes become especially beautiful.

The camp is expected to open in spring and close in autumn. We will announce the exact dates before opening.

Getting there

By car you reach the camp from Limburg in approx. 0:10 h, from Koblenz in approx. 0:40 h and from Wiesbaden in approx. 0:45 h. From Frankfurt it is approx. 1:00 h, from Bonn approx. 1:10 h, from Cologne approx. 1:15 h and from Düsseldorf approx. 1:45 h. The times refer to the drive from each city centre, and the diagram above shows the directions.

For orientation: you usually arrive from 3 pm and leave by 11 am.

Questions about this location
